Rollingwood’s annual Hometown Fourth of July!

PARADE ROLLS AT 9AM

Independence waits for no one: we roll rain or shine!

  • Honorary Parade Marshals: Alma Menn, Juanita Meier, Nora Fairle, Billie Grer, Lillian Kreiger, and Holis Stephens
  • Route Map (now online!): Down Rollingwood Dr From Riley to Ridgewood Up Ridgewood to Pickwick to the Rollingwood Park
  • Line-up: 8:30 AM at the corner of Riley and Pickwick
  • Kids Parade: line up at Wallis and Rollingwood (decorated bikes, wagons, etc)

CELEBRATE AT THE PARK AFTER THE PARADE!

  • Flag presented by Cub Scout Pack 66
  • National Anthem sung by Nicholas Williams
  • Food and Drink available for purchase including our Mayor’s famous roasted corn
  • Kid Activities
  • Raffle
    • Tickets will be sold along the parade route for $1
    • Raffle to take place at picnic.

T-Shirts will be available at the July 4th picnic in the park after the parade and also at the evening fireworks.

Logistics for 4th of July Parade

This year’s 4th of July parade (see route map) rolls at 9 AM on Wednesday 7/4.  Participants in the parade should be at the appropriate staging area by 8:30.  Floats and cars stage at Riley Rd and bikes stage by the pool.
The parade ends at the Rollingwood park with food and a raffle.

Eanes rising Kindergarden Playgroup rescheduled to this Saturday

Due to rain chance.  New time is Saturday June 23rd 10-11:15 at Eanes Elementary Upper Playground

Construction starts on Rollingwood center (aka Endeavor Project)

From the Statesman on 6/13:

Construction has started on Endeavor Real Estate Group’s Rollingwood Town Center, which will include three office buildings with more than 300,000 square feet.

Ground is being cleared for a Wachovia Bank branch [yes, another bank] that will be part of the project, but work on the office buildings is a few months away, said Bryce Miller, a principal with Austin-based Endeavor

Playgroup for rising Eanes Elem kindergarteners: 6/16

Ginny Scott (ginnytscott[at]gmail[dot]com) is organizing more play groups for rising Eanes Elementary kindergarteners. Over 30 families met at the at Eanes Elementary playground.

Planned meetings are:

  • Saturday June 16 from 11-12:15
  • Saturday July 14 tentative
  • Aug TBD
