Opinion: Casstevens asks for vote about water loans
April 4, 2008 by Earnest Casstevens.
These opinions were posted by Earnest Casstevens as part of the discussion about the City’s proposed water project.
Rollingwood citizens should be allowed to vote on the water loans!
The City Council of the City of Rollingwood intends to take final action at its next meeting to borrow $2,350,000 ($4700 per household) as Part 1 of a $5,274,100 loan ($10,500 per household) for water system facilities. Under the law, 5% of Rollingwood’s qualified voters can petition to require the City to obtain voter approval before issuing the debt. The citizens of Rollingwood should insist on voter approval!
