Newsletter from 4/20
April 20, 2008 by president.
I had the idea that it may be interesting to start keeping the email newsletter (subscribe) on this site:
My fellow Rollingwoodians,
Ask not what your City can do for you, but what you can do for your community! You can come to the Candidates’ Forum on Tuesday @ 7 PM and the Corner Social on Sunday @ 2 PM.
Every year in May, we have the priviledge (some would say the Honor) of electing citizens who will serve our community as Mayor and Alderpeople. We entrust in these volunteers both the important and the trivial decisions that impact our daily lives. The Candidates’ Forum is the only opportunity you’ll have to meet all these selfless people together at one time. So make a point of joining us in City Hall on 4/22 at 7 PM (agenda).
Every year in May, we also hold one of our Corner Socials. This is a casual “drive by” event in which you’re encouraged to drop in and meet your neighbors on Sunday anytime between 2 and 4. We’ll set up some light refreshments on Rollingwood Drive by baseball fields.
Looking for peace and quiet or just more reading material? The City has also posted information about the proposed changes to the noise ordinance.

Candidates’ Forum 4/22: Agenda
April 20, 2008 by president.
The 2008 Candidates’ Forum will be Tuesday 4/22. Paul Crocker, Forum chair, has proposed a different format so that our candidates have more time to present their ideas: all alderpeople and mayoral candidates will be together for the forum.
The agenda is:
7:00 - Introductions, Paul Crocker
7:15 - 90 minutes of moderated questions.
- All candidates will respond to every question.
- The order of responses will be randomized.
- Each question will be re-stated between responses.
- We plan to have a timer to help the candidates
pace their responses.
- Candidates introduce themselves. (11 minutes)
- 2 minutes for each response.
- The content is up to the candidate.
- Prepared questions. (20 minutes)
- 90 seconds for each response.
