Friends of Rollingwood Park and Hatley Fields
September 26, 2008 by cathorne.
Our goal: To raise $75,000 to fund the construction of the new field house. Why we chose to establish a “special project” fund at the Austin Community Foundation?
- Austin Community Foundation is a non-profit umbrella for permanent and special project funds in Austin and surrounding areas including Leander, Pflugerville, Westlake, Rollingwood, etc…
- They provide help and guidance in finding other sources of funds for specific projects, ie.. different grants available, different funds they have that might be able to help support the project, various sources of funding, etc..
- ACF can handle credit car donations which we are not equipped to do.
- ACF handles all tax reporting documents for donors and to the IRS.
- We are applying for a matching ACF grant for a specific amount.
- The ACF fund helps us raise money outside of Rollingwood.
- This is a one time fundraising campaign that did not need a long term tax exemption component. If the group seems successful it can easily be turned into a long term project.
For more information about the Austin Community Foundation and it’s various funds please visit www.austincommunityfoundation.org and go to their fund lists and fundraiser page.
If you have any questions or would like to help, please contact Catherine Horne at cathorne[at]austin[dot]rr[dot]com.
