Nov’08 Candidates’ Forum on Tuesday 10/21 @ 7

Thanks to efforts by Leslie Davis and Judy Moore, the RNA will be sponsoring a regional candidates’ forum!

The event will be on 10/21 at the Westlake Chap’s Court from 7 to 9 PM.

This is the ONLY PUBLIC FORUM in our area and a great way to learn about the candidates first hand.  Don’t get so distracted by the Presidential Circus Election!  Get informed - we’ve got important local positions up for vote too.

Friends of Rollingwood Park and Hatley Fields

Our goal: To raise $75,000 to fund the construction of the new field house. Why we chose to establish a “special project” fund at the Austin Community Foundation?

  1. Austin Community Foundation is a non-profit umbrella for permanent and special project funds in Austin and surrounding areas including Leander, Pflugerville, Westlake, Rollingwood, etc…
  2. They provide help and guidance in finding other sources of funds for specific projects, ie.. different grants available, different funds they have that might be able to help support the project, various sources of funding, etc..
  3.  ACF can handle credit car donations which we are not equipped to do.
  4.  ACF handles all tax reporting documents for donors and to the IRS.
  5.  We are applying for a matching ACF grant for a specific amount.
  6.  The ACF fund helps us raise money outside of Rollingwood.
  7. This is a one time fundraising campaign that did not need a long term tax exemption component. If the group seems successful it can easily be turned into a long term project.

For more information about the Austin Community Foundation and it’s various funds please visit www.austincommunityfoundation.org and go to their fund lists and fundraiser page.

If you have any questions or would like to help, please contact Catherine Horne at cathorne[at]austin[dot]rr[dot]com.
