Newsletter from 4/7/9
April 7, 2009 by president.
Rollingwood,What a great community - April is showering us with something for everyone! So set a 5k course for adventure or your mind on a new alderperson. Rollingwood is an open smile on a friendly street.
This is your last official reminder for our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday (4/11). The hunt starts at 9:45 sharp - the hordes invade and won’t be delayed. We’ll have coffee and snacks. After the hunt there is entertainment and games. Laura Hirschfeld and Troye Campbell are the RNA event Co-Chairs.
On Friday 4/17 @ 5:30, the “Life is Good in the Wood” 5k run/walk is right on the hunt’s heels. The Rollingwood Women’s Club has staked out a new course, so get off the couch and register!
On Sunday 4/26, we’ve booked a double header on the Baseball Fields. It’s the traditional Corner Social (2-4) and the Grand Opening of Field House (4-6)!
On Tuesday 4/28, we host the annual Candidates Forum at City Hall from 7 to 9 PM. We’ve got 7 candidates running for 3 positions. Lino Mendiola has agreed to Chair the event this year. Voting is on Saturday 5/9 and early voting starts 4/27.
I like that we’re all passionate about our City. If you have any doubts, just attend a Park (4/14), Council (4/15), or RCDC (4/16) meeting. Campaign season brings out those passions as we engage in serious discussions about how our City operates. At the end of the day, being good neighbors should be every one’s top campaign priority.
Finally - if you have child who will be 5 and missed Kindergarten round-up last week then get yourself to Eanes Elementary right away! They need to know about your child so they hire enough teachers!
